The rest of our crazy weekend, and week!

Justin and I got a great surprise Friday night when we found out that Justin's mom was going to make a quick visit. She had some travel delays on her way home from the East coast and she was able to stay with us for the weekend. We were all so excited to see her. The girls never get one on one time with her so I was really happy. Anyway, we were having a grand time when on Saturday night, Ellie, being the crazy child that she is, got into grandma's stuff. First she just got into her lipstick and we all laughed and I felt really bad that she ruined it. Then a little later, we noticed that Ellie was very quiet and that is a very bad sign. Justin found her again in grandma's things, snacking on her medicine, saying "Grandma's candy is yucky!" I didn't freak out too much because it was just a vitamin and I am sure it tasted so bad that she didn't get too much of it. Then we discovered that another one of Ellen's pills was missing, this one a little more concerning. Anyway, I called poison control and they told me I should take her to the ER, which I did. Ellen was pretty sure she had taken the last of her pills, but I wanted to be sure. We waited in the ER for a few hours because they wanted to monitor Ellie. Try keeping her laying in a hospital bed without any TV!! They checked her out and she was fine, but I'll tell you, she gave me a scare. I knew she would be the first child to go to the ER. Anyway, it was an experience and I don't want to ever go again. The rest of our week has been really fun. It was warm, the girls even ran through the sprinklers on Monday. I have been trying to keep busy so that Friday would come. I am so excited for the ultrasound tomorrow. I get pretty anxious waiting to hear if the baby is okay. I am also pretty sure it is a girl, but that is just fine with me. Well, enough from me, I will include some pics of Jos and her sunglasses, she loves them so much and will keep them on for hours. I have the cutest kids!! I'll update tomorrow!

Fun at the zoo

Last Saturday Justin took Taylor and Ellie to the zoo. My parents, Matt and Cortney also went. They had so much fun. It helped me out also, because I was able to have the baby shower in peace. The girls keep asking to go back and see the animals. I am so lucky to have such an amazing husband and family. Justin took more pics on the video camera and I haven't figured out how to get them from there, so sorry there aren't very many.

Taylor is growing up too fast!

Last night was so much fun. We went to Taylor's end of the year preschool party. She has a great teacher and she learned so much this year. She will go again next year and I know she will miss it during the summer. It is so fun to see how she is growing up and learning all kinds of things. It seems like it goes so fast. I can't believe that she will be four in a couple of months. Being able to see my kids grow and accomplish things brings me such a joy. I guess that is one of the many blessings of being a parent. We all watched Taylor sing and dance and then she received the "hardest worker" award from her Teacher. Then we all ate ice cream and it was a great time. Her teacher made a really cute slide show of all their activities through the year and I will try to post it later. I hope we all have a great weekend. Justin is taking the older girls to the zoo tomorrow with my parents. I am having a baby shower for one of my friends here at the house so I will be busy with that. It is going to be very warm and I can't wait. Have a great one!
Here is Taylor singing "Toeknee chestnut" Sooo cute!

Even Joslyn loved the ice cream!

She finally did it!!

Hooray, Hooray!!
Yesterday Joslyn finally took her first steps on her own! She took three again today and she is finally loving her walker toy. She took her sweet time getting there, but I am sure she will be walking more soon. I just thought I would post it because I know you wondering if she was ever going to walk. We had a great day today. Taylor had her last day of regular preschool and I think when she realizes it, she will be really sad. I am hoping to get her into dance or gymnastics with Ellie this summer. We also went to the library and got lots of fun books. We spent the day reading them. Tomorrow we will be going to a rest home to help the sisters there with Relief Society. They said they love to see the kids, so I hope it works out okay.

Happy Mom's Day!!

Happy Mother's Day everyone! What a fun day for all of us moms. We started celebrating yesterday when my mom, dad, grandma, Cortney, and Matt came over for a yummy BBQ. The men did all of the cooking and cleaning up and it was so nice. We had a lot of fun playing games and spending time with each other. I even got a nap before work which helped a lot. I did have to work last night, for some reason there are a lot of sick kids right now. For a minute I felt bad that I would be sleepy today but then I thought about all the moms that were in the hospital with their kids last night and I was happy to help them out. I would much rather be tired, than have a sick baby. I have so much to be thankful for. I am so grateful that I am a mother. It has brought me so much joy. I don't think I was truly happy before my kids came along. I love them so much and I feel privileged to try my best at raising them. I am also grateful for my own mom and for all that she has done for me, I love you!!
Our family has been doing well. The kids are getting excited for the warmer weather. We have been taking walks a lot and collecting all kinds of neat flowers and rocks on the way. The river trail across from our home is beautiful and I love having it so close. Taylor and Ellie love to get on their sunglasses and go outside. Joslyn loves her glasses too. She put them on the other day and left them on for our entire walk. It must have been at least an hour. Joslyn is finally starting to show signs of walking, she isn't quite there yet, but closer. She is growing up so fast. A few weeks ago we noticed that she was folding her little arms during the prayer. Now she does it every time and tries her best to be very reverent. That reminds me, in church today the primary sang a beautiful song for all the mothers and Taylor was part of it. My little girl is growing up! Of course I teared up when she went up there to sing. Again, I love being a mom! Ellie is also so much fun these days. She is still a little bit slower to listen to anything I say, but luckily she has a great big sister to look up to. She is full of energy and is so dang cute that it is hard to stay upset at her for long. Well, that is about it for us. Nothing much going on this week. I will try to post pics more often!

Mom, Grandma Dee and I laughing at my mom's favorite gift. An old TV movie staring her favorite person, Marie Osmond!

This is the girls getting ready for a walk. They both make sure to wear their sunglasses and Taylor always has her purse handy.

Baby Joss and her glasses.

This is a picture of family night last week. We made puppets and Justin put on a pretty good show for the girls.

The puppet making activity was really a hit, in fact, we made more puppets almost everyday last week.

Field Trip

This week we went with Taylor on her preschool field trip. The kids first went to the post office and got to learn all about it. It was actually interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes. Then we went to Cold Stone to see how they make ice cream. That was also fun and the best part was the ice cream at the end. It was really yummy. Taylor had a lot of fun and she is sad that preschool will be over this month. She will get to go next year, but we will have to find a fun summer activity. We still have playgroup every week which helps out a lot. It is fun to socialize and let the kids play. Yesterday we got a chance to spend time with Grandpa George which was a lot of fun. He is in town just for a day and then he, my dad and brother are going to New York and Boston to watch baseball games! No fair!! Not that I would want to watch baseball, but I could find something to do! Shop maybe?? Last time I went to New York City, I had the best shopping trip ever! Anyway, I hope they have a lot of fun. Have a great weekend!
